How I see it

To divulge in the truth

these days, is truly a sinful

treat, a white lie has become

the creme de la creme, shame

in a world that is often praised

by man, what do we have to

stand on, the foundation is

crumbling with every child who

asks, “What do I say?” Clouded

judgment of the superiors, what

is best is not always right, or am I

getting it wrong again, I’m sure

I’ll be corrected, wait till the world

finally sees how it ends.

White Flag

Even with my eyes closing fast

The thought of you still fights vast

The last thought before i sleep

Angers me because I’m weak

I spend all day going forward

But spend all night getting nowhere

My defense falls at the last stage

My bed is viewed as a cage

I can’t get out or refrain

From what truly leaves me in pain

It would be worthwhile

If i could not smile

When your image arises

In front of my eyes.

Happy Writing Poets!

Threw this together for National Poetry Day. In its raw state but I think its appropriate. Happy Writing Poets!!

The first time

the feeling is alien

yet trusting

it stews for days

determining a plan

an attack

of feelings and truth

crawling up inside

fighting to be expressed

and then…

a simple act

a sharpened pencil

blank piece of paper

releases an abundance

of phrases so eloquent

a feeling of awe

strikes you so perfectly

it all comes together

all thats left is a

smile.

Suffocating

Why did God create them?

To make me cry at night.

The world is covered in a shadow,

And they crawl inside my heart.

Tingling in my fingers,

but no sparkle in my eye.

It’s a wonder that they are here,

in a place that is so sacred.

Tell me to hold back,

I already can’t breathe.

Black vines wrapped up in my soul,

Of all my worries and your fears.

Preservation

This isn’t for you

or for me,

but for the us

of tomorrow.

When life won’t

seem so surreal.

Haunting

I drew you today,

in light and darkness,

the way you stay,

in my mind of sadness.

Oh, Sweet Indulgence

Curls, rosy cheeks,

A mask so sweet,

When she speaks,

Your knees go weak.

An angel with a broken wing,

She seeks love’s sting,

Risks angering her beloved king,

Maybe she will just stay for spring.

Spring turns into summer, fall,

Her shining glory, dust covers all,

Soon she will be forced to crawl,

Her lovers, she will no longer enthrall.

Lonely in the world she creates,

She shakes her wings and waits,

Broken wing gone, leaves it to the fates,

No longer can she make it back to the gates.

Saintly mask led her admirers in,

Stayed for the mask of mortal sin,

She now has to live with whats within,

Here is the world’s smallest violin.

My Comeback….again.

I have been neglectful

my old friend,

I forgot the feeling

of paper and pen.

This leaves me regretful

but this is not the end.

I will leave you squealing

with my new found yen.

Lost and Found

It is all said and done
Silence sitting restless
Broken tears unnerving
I sit in total patience
Waiting—
For my heart to close
The pain to be lost
In a mountain of treasures
With the last stitch made
I can move
Silence dancing around me
Anticipation with the audible rumble
Building within the rubble of my life
Patience turned into determination
SCREAM—
Chaos thrown into the silence
As the world says welcome back.

How It Should Be

Sprawled across the bed
Hair mussed up from the pillow
Chest rising slightly as you breathe
Taken half the covers, caught around
Your legs, though the thin sheet
Doesn’t leave much to the imagination
Your arm resting in my empty space
When your eyes finally flicker open
They search the room for clarity
Before landing on mine
And you smile.
As if life is only a dream, my dream.
