Sometimes It Just Takes a Little Reminder

I was reminded

Of what it means

To be human again

Before we became a

World full of Cynicism

And non-believers.

When it was second nature

To take someone

At their word.

When the word hope

Was more than just

A laughable concept.

When people

Were believed

To be able to change.

I was reminded.

That deep down,

I’m still that human being.

Even if I forgot for a little while.
